ATCR-PSR Enhanced (Air Traffic Control Radar-Primary Surveillance Radar) The ATCR-33S and the ATCR-44S are the Selex-ES solutions for En-route and Terminal Management Area services, and En-route and extended Terminal Management Area services, respectively. The ATCR-33S is an S-band while the ATC-44S is an L-band Air Traffic Control Radar. Both radars are designed to cope with the international standards for PSR sensors. Functional and performance characteristics meet the requirements issued by ICAO and EUROCONTROL. NEXT has been involved in the design and SW development on proprietary HW platform, of the ATCR-33S and ATCR-44S Timing and Control unit. During the project, every aspect of the radar operative modes timing has been handled using real-time embedded boards. NEXT has also implemented the whole redundancy of the receiving channels and has carried out the integration with HW units (power transmitter) and SW/HW units dedicated to Signal Processing and Data Handling. Finally NEXT has developed the SW dedicated to the Command and Control panel (GUI) for monitoring, setting-up and driving the radar operations.
