Cargo Management and Weight & Balance Integration. SmartLoad assists with the tracking of cargo and other barcoded commodities throughout an airline’s organization. Commodity handlers use hand held terminals to scan items as they are loaded onto aircraft, creating a detailed, real-time record of all cargo, mail, materials and other commodities on each flight, allowing them to be tracked throughout their journey. Additionally, SmartLoad ensures that flights are loaded according to the Weight and Balance (WAB) plan. It receives load plans from the WAB system and as baggage handlers load the flight, the weight limits for each container will be enforced via real-time Load Exceptions. SmartLoad shaves 2-3 minutes off the critical flight close-out process to help teams achieve on-time performance and ensure 100% accuracy.
