MM2 The New Generation Mobile Mass Spectrometer for the military Reliable GC MS that is designed for the most arduous of operations. The chemical threat is complex and ever evolving, Bruker’s MM2 is the latest development in military, hardened, mobile and lightweight GC/MS systems designed to unravel these complexities. The class leading MM2 provides a gold standard solution for chemical detection and identification. The MM2 is a new generation of quadrupole mass spectrometers with a membrane inlet. Equipped with flexible accessories such as the surface probe and gas chromatograph with thermodesorption it can fulfil every detection task. Along with a novel vacuum system and micro-controller technology, a milestone capacity volume of 43 Litres at just 35Kg has been achieved. MM2 is the military first choice worldwide. Flexible sophisticated performance The MM2 is able to identify most organic chemicals from any medium (soil, water, air) rapidly. Specifications and performance are not limited to a selected group of chemicals. New libraries can be created and used by the customer. The detection limit for volatile organic compounds and volatile agents is from low ppb to the low ppm range depending on the analytical procedure, e.g. adsorbent enrichment (low ppb range) or on-line monitoring (very low ppm range) from ambient air. Operation has been simplified minimising training burdens and skill fade. The rugged system has been specially designed to be multirole and can be easily mounted in both military and civilian vehicles.
