Description

AMS: 4596, 4597, 4598, 4595 Alloy Description: ToughMet® 3 AT (Hot Worked) / TS (Cold Drawn) UK: CuNi15Sn8A EU: CuNi15Sn8A This wrought Copper-Nickel-Tin Alloy has properties similar to Copper Beryllium Alloys, with the exception of reduced conductivity. A non-magnetic material, it is thermally strengthened via spinodal decomposition, a proven heat treatment process. Although this process has been around for almost as long as precipitation hardening has been for Copper Beryllium, recent improvements in spinodal decomposition have afforded this alloy to be aged to a much higher strength level—now near to Copper Beryllium, without the beryllium.
