The CEM Systems ioSmart reader is a cost-effective yet highly secure RFID contactless smart card reader offering robust, end-to-end security and AES encryption. It utilises advanced DESFire EV3 technology and is designed for use with CEM Systems’ Door Control Module (DCM) range of intelligent door controllers. End-to-End Encryption The CEM Systems AC2000 solution, combined with ioSmart readers and DCM controllers, delivers true end-to-end encryption, from the smart card all the way to the AC2000 server. It is compatible with the DCM 400 and DCM 200 controllers via the Open Supervised Device Protocol Version 2 (OSDPv2) standard and works with the legacy DCM 350 controller through an encrypted proprietary serial protocol. The system also supports secure Personal ID reading and includes secondary keyset rolling functionality for enhanced protection. No keys are permanently stored in the reader, ensuring a high level of security. With the AC2000 Smartcard Utility application, customers can also self-program and manage their own AES-128 keysets for added control and security. Seamless Smart Card Migration The ioSmart reader also supports both legacy MIFARE CSN and encrypted DESFire credentials, enabling a smooth migration between formats. During the technology transition, card definitions can be updated remotely, eliminating the need for physical configuration cards. ioSmart is CEM Systems’ second-generation DESFire reader, providing an upgrade path from the legacy sPass reader. Designed as a unified and secure solution for installations that require a DCM panel approach, ioSmart is ideal for smaller sites and satellite offices.
