Description

UGO™ Connect is designed as a variant of UGO™ Stream for those aircraft equipped with connectivity. It stands therefore in the higher end of IFEC products range. UGO™ Connect is actually agnostic in terms of Internet service delivery, and will adapt to your service provider(s), business models and technology choices. A number of features and services are available in addition to the ones included in UGO™ Stream, such as emailing & social networks apps – Facebook, Twitter, What’s App, etc. However the major changes are consistent with new on line transactional capabilities, as it simplifies transaction security, order fulfilment and enables services such as instant bookings. Connectivity is often seen, today, as the next IFEC frontier, and technology has recently made major progress. However, at Display, we still see two major obstacles remaining at this stage. The first one is technical – how to share among many users in a cabin a limited bandwidth? If you are an ADSL-box user, you know how it is efficient for your home and family. But imagine you host a 200-guests party at your place, with every one trying to go on Spotify or YouTube, and you get an idea of the challenges waiting. UGO™ Connect addresses this specific issue by limiting bandwidth use from a number of applications, as well as prioritizing bandwidth according to usage and passengers’ profiles.
