eCoach ACC & APP The eCoach ACC & APP simulators provide the training environments for area and approach control centers. The simulators are based on the technologies eCoach Enterprise and eCoach Basic. The technologies provide scalable solutions depending on customer needs - Tower simulations can be seamlessly integrated. eCoach ACC & APP can be used for various types of training from ab-initio to ATC Controller refresher training. The simulator contains two major parts, the Simulation System and an ATC system. Simulation System The Simulation System contains several subsystems. ATC Environment Simulator (AES) The ATC Environment Simulator (AES) is the core of the simulation. The AES is responsible for providing the simulated data such as radar track, AFTN-messages, weather data, time information and a lot more, to the ATC system. Part of it is also to handle input and responses from pseudo pilots (PP) and training session supervisors (TSS). The basis for the simulations are exercises created by the Exercise Designer and published to and maintained by the AES. The Enterprise version can run multiple exercises in parallel, each with its own set of airspace data. Hence, it's possible to run a simulation for Australia at the same time as a simulation for Mexico. Exercise Designer (ED) The Exercise Designer (ED) is a vital part of the simulation system. From these working positions, exercises and airspace is created and maintained. These positions can run exercises locally at the ED itself to test and verify exercise behavior.
