Description

The GP 14 VELO (from velocity) is the ultimate expression of today's new 13.5 meter racing class. It is multiple world champion Sebastian Kawa's choice to fly in the first 13.5 meter class FAI World Gliding Championship in Lithuania in August 2015. It is designed for advanced pilots looking to participate in world-class glider competitions, but also for other uses. The glider comes in two fuselage versions – standard and Slim (GP 14 S VELO), to improve flight parameters even more. It offers absolutely top shelf performance, with best glide L/D = 45 and Vne = 270 km/h, wing loading 33 - 55 kg/m2. The glider is being developed using the most modern 3D design methods, as well as exclusively CNC machines during modelling. Uncompromised aerodynamic concept features sophisticated elliptic shaped wings and horizontal tail, as well as the most efficient and span-variable airfoils. The production technology is based on the best carbon-epoxy composite materials available, securing unmatched lightweight and strength. The glider’s structure is also high temperature-resistant, which allows to offer a wide range of interesting exterior colour schemes. It can also come with electric self-launch versions (GP 14 E VELO and GP 14 SE VELO), which consists of 15 kW electric motor and 4 kWh of batteries capacity placed in the wings, speed controller and battery charger.
