The ARGOS-II Airborne Observation System is designed for installation on helicopters, fixed wing aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles to provide ITAR Free surveillance (ISR) and targeting (ISTAR) capabilities for military, border and maritime patrol and law enforcement missions.
The ARGOS-II is a robust, 16-inch class stabilised sensor turret with superb stabilisation. It incorporates a flexible suite of sensors and electronics in a single line replaceable Unit. It is fitted with a high definition (HD) MWIR continuous zoom thermal imager and unique HD multi-spectral TV zoom and spotter cameras. An optional SWIR camera provides additional multi-spectral capabilities and imaging in challenging visibility conditions. The Near Infrared (NIR) Laser Pointer and Laser Illuminator enhance the operational effectiveness of the system.
The ARGOS-II system can also be equipped with a dual wavelength, high power, low divergence Laser Designator / Rangefinder (LDR). The LDR has selectable target designation and eye safe ranging modes and includes a training mode.
