The challenge
Air navigation service providers must maintain complete situational awareness to ensure safe traffic flows across a wide range of aircraft types and operating conditions. Detection and tracking must be reliable for non‑cooperative targets, unmanned aerial systems and in environments affected by wind farms and interfering signals such as 4G/LTE.

Our solution
HENSOLDT's ASR‑NG is a modular, scalable 3D S‑band solid‑state air‑surveillance radar and approach control sensor providing primary and secondary surveillance (PSR and SSR) for regional and major international airports. The system implements fully digital Doppler detection and tracking with concurrent triple‑beam processing and electronic beam‑forming. A three‑horn antenna feed enables 3D target detection with PSR, allowing altitude measurement of non‑cooperative targets.
