Description

Overview
HADIS (High Altitude Drop Infiltrating System) by HENSOLDT is an autonomous unmanned tactical cargo glider designed to resupply military units in contested and hard-to-reach areas. Its long-range capability and low radar signature enable infiltration across hostile lines to reinforce forward positions.

The challenge
Providing secure, timely supplies to forces in remote or contested zones is critical for sustainment and operational effectiveness. Conventional airdrop methods can require low-altitude passes that increase risk to aircrew; HADIS offers a stand-off solution minimizing exposure.

Features
  • Integrated autopilot for autonomous flight
  • Onboard mission computer
  • Flight termination system
  • Containment system for payload security
  • Payload variations configurable up to 500 kg (military or medical)
  • Rack-compatible deployment system for up to 5 gliders from a cargo aircraft
  • Waypoint navigation and remote control from a ground control station

Benefits
  • Long range: high glide ratio for extended standoff delivery
  • Parachute-assisted precision landing at designated coordinates
  • Low observability: reduced radar signature and autonomous waypoint flight
  • Modular payload options: cargo boxes and other mounting solutions
  • Scalable geometry to adapt for different payload sizes
  • Swarm capability: multiple gliders can operate independently or converge on a single target
  • Provides in-mission weather data to support ground and air operations

Deployment and operation
HADIS is deployed from a cargo aircraft using a rack system; each glider is extracted by a drag chute to enable a controlled transition into the glide phase. Navigation can be autonomous via waypoint programming or conducted from a remote control station. A parachute system ensures accurate, parachute-assisted landings. Payload configurations support military and medical resupply missions up to 500 kg.
