Description

Overview

The Carbon Cub ULT represents the next evolution of lightweight backcountry aviation, combining the performance of the Carbon Cub platform with the refinement and operational simplicity of a regenerative turboprop. Developed for the MOSAAC era, the ULT offers recreational pilots turbine operation with retained short-field performance and responsive handling.

Propulsion & Operation

The aircraft is powered by the TurboTech TP-R90 (with TP-R150 option) regenerative turboprop engine featuring dual FADEC (Full Authority Digital Engine Control). Key operating features include push-button start, single-lever power management, automatic control of fuel flow, ignition, temperatures and propeller, and turbine smoothness with simplified pilot workload. The regenerative turbine is engineered to deliver fuel efficiency comparable to modern gasoline engines while maintaining turbine durability and reliability.

Design & Capability

The ULT pairs lightweight composite construction, aerodynamic STOL refinements and proven handling to deliver exceptional backcountry capability. As the first U.S.-manufactured turboprop eligible under MOSAIC to be flown by Sport Pilots, the ULT provides an accessible turbine experience for recreational operations while preserving short takeoff and landing performance.

Availability

Customer deposits are being accepted; initial deliveries are expected in 2027.
