Mobile app ID

Overview
A Mobile ID (digital identity wallet) is a contactless, government-backed personal credential stored on a smartphone (in-app or in an OEM wallet). It contains digitized identity attributes and can be used for both in-person and online identity verification. Enrollment typically requires capturing a physical ID or scanning a QR code and taking a live selfie for comparison with the government System of Record (SoR). Personal data is encrypted and signed by the back end before provisioning to the device.

Use cases and deployment
Mobile ID is accepted wherever a government-issued ID is required: age verification, access control, airport security and roadside identity checks. IDEMIA Mobile ID is used at multiple TSA checkpoints in the United States and supports national and regional deployments such as the EU Digital Identity Wallet and programs in Colombia.

Products and integration
IDEMIA delivers Mobile ID via the Mobile ID Verify app and a Mobile ID SDK for Android and iOS. A back-end platform and APIs are provided to manage onboarding, issuance, lifecycle management and to enable relying parties to perform online authentication.
