VPSCAN is the only EVD (Explosive Vapor Detector) in the world with the sensitivity required to have detection limits of 0.01ppq, which is the sensitivity required to detect plastic explosives and drugs at container or truck level, with detection probabilities greater than 90%. This level of sensitivity requires very high selectivity to achieve a very low false alarm rate of less than 1%. These previously unprecedented features have been implemented in VPSCAN as a result of an optimal integration of our DMA-based technology with other instruments and more than 15 years of real-world testing. VPSCAN allows the complete scanning of a container in a non-intrusive way and with automatic results in times of 3 minutes for sampling and 3 minutes for analysis. This separation between sampling and analysis makes this technology very versatile and easy to implement in most inspection scenarios such as air cargo, trucks, sea containers, pallets, luggage, people, mail, cars, etc. VPSCAN technology allows the incorporation of new substances in the detection routine in addition to explosives, such as drugs, chemical agents, and illicit substances.
