OverviewThe XRE 35 Lens is a near-eye display test solution with electronic focus. Its patent-pending optical design is engineered to measure near-eye displays integrated into virtual (VR), mixed (MR), and augmented reality (AR) headsets by simulating the size, position, and field of view of the human eye. The lens supports folded ("periscope") and non-folded configurations and can be used for single-eye or dual-eye (stereoscopic) measurement when two systems are integrated.
Key Capabilities- Replicates human eye position in XR headsets
- Electronic focus controllable by software (internal focus mechanism; body length does not change during focus)
- Folded ("periscope") and non-folded configurations to fit diverse headset form factors
- Field of view up to ±35° (70° total)
- Supports through-focus automated MTF analysis (multiple focus settings iterated in software)
Flexible ConfigurationsThe XRE 35 Lens can be paired with imaging photometers (photometric) or imaging colorimeters (colorimetric) and supports resolution options to provide required pixels-per-degree for up to 70° FOV. Folded configurations enable measurement in headsets with limited eye relief or headgear and can allow two XRE 35 Lens systems to be installed for simultaneous left- and right-eye measurement.
Measurement and Software IntegrationThe XRE 35 Lens attaches to Radiant ProMetric imaging photometers or colorimeters using a custom mounting bracket to form a compact camera/lens solution. It is supported by Radiant's TrueTest™ software and the TT-ARVR™ software module for automated AR/VR display tests (luminance, chromaticity, contrast, uniformity, mura/blemish detection, pixel/line defects, MTF, distortion, focus uniformity, etc.).
