Cargo handling system, for automated handling of ULD’s The Right Angle Deck is designed to transfer ULD’s right angled (lateral) to the primary longitudinal movement by interchanging the operating heights of two conveyor decks. This motion is accomplished by lifting a partially motor powered wheel deck vertically through a motor powered roller deck. The combination of these two decks provide conveying at right angles to each other. The interchanging mechanism is electro-mechanically operated. The Right Angle Deck is suitable for ULD’s with maximum 10 ft base size with dimensions: L x W: 125 x 96 inch (3,175 x 2,438 mm) and weight 15,000 lbs (6,800 kg). Lifting Assembly The motor powered lift system with cam discs is designed to interchange the operating height of the roller and wheel decks. It will lift the wheels from ±15 mm below to ±15 mm above the roller plane level and vice versa. The timing of the cam discs will ensure that the ULD transfer height will remain 508 mm in all directions.
