Surveillance systems based on secondary radars of A/C/S, multilateration, ADS-B and IFF modes 1, 2, 3 share a single communication channel – the 1030 MHz and 1090 MHz frequency. Non-coordinated use of these frequencies may result in reduced performance of respective surveillance systems. To maintain a high standard of air traffic safety, the security of 1030/1090 MHz band is a key condition. The monitoring system produced by T-CZ has been developed for the purpose of monitoring activities in the 1030/1090 MHz band. Interrogations and replies concerning potential anomalies can be continuously monitored and evaluated, or further saved for the purpose of subsequent off-line analyses. Main characteristics Monitoring interrogation in the 1030/1090 MHz band and replies from SSR, MLAT, ADS-B, ACAS, and IFF Evaluation of all key interrogation parameters, such as an interrogator code (IC), pulse repetition frequency (PRF), horizontal antenna radiation pattern, etc. Evaluation of a load of a specified on-board responder Provision of warnings in real time based on pre-defined triggers Determination of sources polluting the RF band Provision of analyses of trends and reports with history System architecture The 1030/1090 MHz monitoring system consists of the following design units: Antenna sub-system – omni-directional or four 90° sector antennas in the 1030/1090 MHz band, GNSS antenna, signal divider Receiver unit as PCIe card – 1× 1030 MHz and 1× 1090 MHz or 1× 1030/1090 MHz combined for omni-directional antenna Data processing unit – a COTS computer with data processing software
