The flight helmet, model LH-250, represents the utmost development in flight helmets for helicopter use. LH-250 is the result of years of research and collaboration between the MSA-Gallet Research Centre and the Aerospace Centre of Toulouse. LH-250 has been designed and created using the most modern technological systems aimed at guaranteeing maximum comfort, reduced weight, stability, retention and protection. Thanks to the extremely modern design of its materials, reformulated on the basis of aerospace experience, the accurate design and research for a new compact and ergonomic form make the LH-250 versatile and adaptable to the most varied operative demands of flight personnel.
LH-250 is predisposed for use with night visors ANVIS-NVG.
The shell of the MSA-GALLET flight helmets is made from a composite rigid structure built from a Kevlar© fibre reinforced with carbon fibres and fire-retardant epoxy resins. The entire lamination cycle is carried out in a controlled vacuum environment. Exactly the same technology is used for the construction of aerospace structural parts (Vacuum System Technology). Element finishes and cuts are made using a waterjet cutting technology with a robotised system.
The surface of the shell is available in any colours requested by customer and with specific low glare treatments. The inside of the MSA-GALLET flight shells consists of a multilayer structure for energy absorption, made from closed cell heat polymers of a variable density and with a high energy impact, covered with a soft fire-retardant fabric and a soft padded leather edging.
