OverviewThe SPINJET is a coolant-driven high-speed spindle (HSM Jet Spindle) that uses the machine's existing coolant flow to rotate the spindle without an additional energy source. It provides extremely high spindle speeds and integrates wireless real-time RPM monitoring to optimize cutting conditions according to the actual rotational speed in the workpiece.
Key Performance Claims- 4-5 times faster (marketing claim)
- Available speeds: 20,000; 30,000; 40,000 RPM on your machine
- Milling capability examples: milling steel up to 3.0 mm; milling aluminum up to 6.0 mm
Cooling and DriveThe system is coolant-driven: the existing machine coolant flow rotates the HSM Jet spindle. No additional energy source is required for spindle rotation. Pinpointed coolant supply through the tool body directs coolant to the cutting zone (improved cooling and chip evacuation are intrinsic to the concept).
Plug & Play and Mounting OptionsAs easy to connect as any other tool in your magazine. HSM Jet Spindle is available in several mounting/adaptation types:
- Modular ER32 shank collet chuck with a special tightening nut, suitable for standard tool holders with an ER32 seat
- Integral options with various adaptations: HSK A63; C5 & C6; BT30 & BT40; CAT 40; and DIN69871-40
- Compatible with standard ER11 collets for tool clamping
Wireless Real Time RPM MonitoringWireless real time RPM monitoring allows optimization of cutting tool machining conditions according to the actual rotational speed in the workpiece; intended to provide feedback for adjusting cutting parameters during HSM operations.
Applications and Typical Uses- High-speed milling, drilling, engraving, chamfering, grinding and other micro/HSM applications
- Small-diameter high-speed tooling where machine spindle RPM is insufficient and coolant-driven amplification is required
- Operations that benefit from internal coolant delivery and improved chip evacuation
Integration and Practical NotesDesigned to be mounted like standard magazine tools. Modular and integral adaptations allow integration in existing toolholding systems; compatible with collet solutions. Because the spindle is driven by the machine coolant, coolant pressure/flow and machine coolant delivery capabilities must be considered when selecting and operating SPINJET units.
