Standard Hatch PIT System - Multi-Service Underground Access for Aprons and Hangars ElectroAir’s Standard Hatch PIT System is a robust underground solution designed to deliver multiple services directly beside the aircraft, including electrical power, pre-conditioned air (PCA), potable and waste water, and compressed air. Ideal for airports, maintenance hangars, and industrial apron areas, this system ensures a safe, clean, and efficient working environment by eliminating above-ground cables and hoses. The EAPIT system uses a counterweight-assisted hatch mechanism for smooth access. Its surface includes built-in plugs that supply special aviation power currents, such as 400 Hz AC or 28.5 VDC. Beneath the surface lies a preassembled concrete bunker housing distribution boxes for 400 Hz and 50/60 Hz connections, simplifying installation and minimizing on-site configuration. Optional upgrades include remote-control hatch operation and sealed manholes for added safety and convenience. The rugged hatch cover is built to withstand heavy aircraft and vehicle traffic while ensuring weather and tamper resistance. By integrating ElectroAir GPUs with the PIT system, operators can centralize power delivery from a distant location, further streamlining ground operations. Systems for compressed air, PCA (with long-term hoses), and multiple water lines can be added to match operational needs. ElectroAir's PIT solutions meet the demands of high-traffic environments and are engineered to comply with international aviation standards, offering maximum reliability, flexibility, and safety for both civil and military infrastructure.
