Pop-Up PIT System - Mechanized Ground Access for Maximum Efficiency ElectroAir’s Pop-Up PIT System is an advanced, mechanized underground service unit designed to provide seamless access to power and utility connections at aircraft parking zones, aprons, and hangars. Engineered for modern ground handling operations, it combines compact underground storage with quick surface deployment via a counterweight-assisted lifting mechanism. When activated, the PIT cover lifts above the surface to reveal integrated distribution boxes for 50/60 Hz and optional 400 Hz power, along with sockets, pre-conditioned air (PCA) hose connections, and a control interface. The mechanism is lightweight and ergonomic - requiring less than 5 kg of force to open or close, allowing safe and easy operation by ground staff. Beneath the surface, a preassembled concrete chamber houses the core utilities, including an optional sump pump, with protection against environmental factors. Heating systems can also be installed to support use in cold climates. A manhole is available for periodic maintenance and inspection.
