During critical manoeuvres such as landings, hovering and close-to-ground operations, your manned and unmanned aircraft need to have a complete view of what is below them before they can land safely.
To ensure the safety of the aircraft, its crew and anyone on the ground, you need to be able to view the situation below with the aid of video feeds taken from multiple angles – including preventing rotor strikes with a video overlay of the rotors relative to any hazards or obstacles.
The weight of this solution should be kept to a minimum and the installation of any additional equipment should be as simple as possible.
If personnel are not fully aware of their surroundings during critical aircraft manoeuvres, the results can be disastrous.
To address this risk, HENSOLDT has developed CaviSight: a standalone, retrofittable, cost-effective video switching and landing aid system that eliminates blind spots and provides full situational awareness, flight safety and mission efficiency.
With CaviSight, personnel ‘know what’s below’ and its compact and easy-to-install design makes it well suited to a variety of helicopter and (e)VTOL types.
The configurable CaviSight Video Management System connects to multiple aircraft cameras and displays their feeds in the cockpit. An AI overlay enhances the video feed to safely guide the pilot to the ground, prevent rotor strikes and detect ground hazards.
