Overview
Lödige automated guided vehicles (AGVs) are designed for efficient intra-terminal transport of Unit Load Devices (ULDs) in air cargo terminals. They move ULDs between import/export zones, build & break stations and storage decks at the standard air cargo conveying height to streamline flows and reduce manual handling.

Key concept
Lödige AGVs perform autonomous transport of 10 ft ULDs in NEP or WEP orientation at a transfer height of 508 mm. Navigation is based on natural navigation and laser scanners, with lithium-ion batteries and inductive charging enabling continuous operation and accurate position control.

How they operate
AGVs run without physical guides using natural navigation and laser-based obstacle detection. Routes and tasks are assigned dynamically via the WMS or fleet manager and centrally coordinated to optimize terminal throughput and reduce dwell times.
