Product OverviewThe Lödige Elevating Transfer Vehicle (ETV) is a fully automated, rail-guided system designed to perform simultaneous vertical and horizontal transfers of Unit Load Devices (ULDs) in multi-level storage environments. The ETV integrates with the Cargo Professional Suite for real-time control, scheduling and interaction with terminal systems, enabling compact, high-throughput storage layouts.
Key Benefits- Simultaneous vertical and horizontal transfer of ULDs to and from multi-level decks
- Capacity options: standard up to 6,800 kg (15 ft); optional up to 13,600 kg (20 ft)
- Friction drive for handover to non-powered storage decks
- Dual crane-rail horizontal drive for precise positioning
- Operation modes: fully automatic, semi-automatic, manual and maintenance
- Integrated safety: obstacle detection, warning lights and emergency stop
- Smart interlocks to prevent ULD transfer errors
- Optional operator cabin for manual operation and maintenance
Features / Options (selected)- Available configurations: 5 ft, 10 ft WEP & NEP, 15 ft NEP, 20 ft NEP
- ULD overhang detection via contour frame
- Obstacle detection scanners for travel-path safety
- Energy-absorbing buffers at both travel ends
- Emergency stop circuits and interlock logic (movement blocked unless ULD positioned and cabin doors closed)
- Friction drive extractors for integration with non-powered storage decks
- Operator cabin with heating/ventilation and ergonomic seat
- Additional safety devices: sensors, buffers, push-button and control interlocks

Design, Safety & OperationThe ETV is engineered for continuous airport terminal operation with redundancy and serviceability in mind. Key design elements include frequency-regulated AC motors for hoisting, redundant drive units, fallback mechanisms, fall-arrest provision, built-in maintenance platform and emergency grab brake. Positioning uses barcode-based reference points for accurate vertical and horizontal alignment. The vehicle is powered via a conductor rail in the aisle with on-board motor control cabinets.
