The straight-through design of the inlet and outlet provide very low product shear. A heat jacket (for thermal oil vapor or steam) or electric heating is integrated into the pump design. These pumps are designed to withstand extremely high temperatures and pressures. Various seal designs are available, double mechanical, mechanical static or stuffing box.
