OverviewThe PT6C Series is a turboshaft engine family delivering 1,600 to 2,000 shaft horsepower for new-generation medium-class helicopters and tiltrotors. It combines PT6 heritage with modern engine control options to support demanding mission profiles including offshore, EMS, SAR, and utility operations.
Design and PurposeDerived from the PT6A-67 turboprop lineage, the PT6C retains the proven two-shaft layout: a multi-stage compressor driven by a single-stage compressor turbine and an independent free power turbine driving the output shaft. Models incorporate advanced materials and cooling solutions to optimize durability and power-to-weight ratio. Electronic Engine Control (EEC) up to Dual Channel FADEC is available for improved pilot interface and maintenance diagnostics.
Setting a New Standard in Its ClassThe PT6C Series is optimized for high power-to-weight performance and competitive fuel consumption while maintaining operational robustness in harsh environments. Modern control architectures enhance engine handling, start reliability and on-wing diagnostics to reduce aircraft downtime.
Versatility on a Wide Variety of ApplicationsThe 1,600–2,000 shp class is produced in four main models and is certified or selected for multiple platforms. Typical mission sets include offshore transport, emergency medical services, search & rescue, corporate/VIP transport and utility work.
