The Ocean amphibious and 'straight' seaplanes will all offer the same step-change load capacity, cruise performance, waterside access, wave-handling and safety advantages in relation to their counterparts, described in New capability.
The Ocean seaplanes are configured to additionally reproduce the best qualities of both flying-boats and floatplanes, in terms of practical docking features, access/egress and loading features, and details to maximise operator and user experiences. The Ocean designs are meticulously specified in response to extensive seaplane-user engagements including detailed studies by the most prominent seaplane operating companies.
To suit different types of operation, the Oceans will be offered with options for cockpit-actuated wing-fold and different power systems for water thruster options. Zero-emission primary power system options will be offered in all aircraft, subject to Certifications for the new systems.
The Ocean 12 is designed to fulfill tasks currently served by Cessna Caravans and single-engined DHC-3 Otter floatplanes and many equivalent landplanes. The new Ocean 12 capabilities will multiply applications and expand these markets out.
