About Us

TRAFILTUBI TODAY

Today’s product innovation is a direct result of Trafiltubi’s deep awareness of the value of its own tradition.

Founded by Gilberto Colombo, our company continues to specialize in the cold drawing of high-quality tubes, subjected to various heat and mechanical treatments — customized according to specific needs — to achieve with maximum precision the required technical characteristics for different applications.

The exceptional technical qualities of special steels are further enhanced by the possibility of varying thicknesses along the same tube and by forming it into a wide variety of shapes.

Thanks to the experience built over its long history, TRAFILTUBI maintains strong, long-standing relationships with its customers and suppliers, allowing it to flexibly meet even the most sophisticated requirements in terms of service and supply.

TRAFILTUBI also stands for continuous innovation.
This innovative drive has led us to constantly expand our range of special steels. Historically a specialist in all microalloyed special steels (15CDV6, 25CrMo4, 42CrMo4, and all quenched and tempered steels), since 2007 Trafiltubi has become the first hybrid manufacturer capable of producing and supplying both carbon and stainless steel tubes — in various materials, shapes, and according to the highest quality standards.

Today, TRAFILTUBI can proudly claim to offer, compared to all other competitors, the widest range of steels, including stainless grades and nickel alloys.

This achievement stems from research initiated in 2005 by TRAFILTUBI, in collaboration with top engineers from Aubert & Duval, aimed at developing new seamless tubular structures capable of combining previously unattainable characteristics: corrosion resistance, high mechanical strength, easy machinability for different thicknesses and shapes, and excellent weldability without weakening near the welded areas.

As a result of this research, in 2006 we introduced HInoxTUBE®, an exclusive, patented product made from a special cold-drawn stainless steel, formable and machinable in various thicknesses, and offering exceptional performance in terms of mechanical properties and weldability.

Finally, an invaluable part of Trafiltubi’s heritage is the extensive archive of technical drawings left by Gilberto Colombo, which enables us to assist enthusiasts in the restoration and faithful reconstruction of historic Gilco frames.

Our values

Company structure and quality

Veritas is the value that informs Trafiltubi’s quality policy. Our keywords are historical tradition, culture of innovation, traceability.

Trafiltubi is certified ISO 9001 since 1997; then PED and AD2000-W0. Right now we are on the way for aeronautical certification ISO 9100.
However, even before any certifications, and since ever, our firm has been a production centre inspired by the idea of global quality in its widest meaning. Loyal to its own history, Trafiltubi is based, in the first place, on an idea of business that is not limited to mere profit, but is aimed to the constant achievement of innovative enhancements [see extract (general principles) of Trafiltubi Quality Policy].

In this idea lie the roots of our relationships with our customers (as well as suppliers), ties that are nurtured by a long-time consolidated loyalty and that, far from being a simple matter of “supplying a product”, extend into a continuous research for improved solutions, carried out with a sincere passion.

Just as important is for us the quality of relationships among the people of our staff, employees as well as technicians and internal workers, which breeds the pleasure of team-work.

As part of our transparency policy, we make the diagram of the company structure public.
