Sanicro® 35 is a super‑austenitic alloy developed to bridge the gap between standard duplex/austenitic grades and nickel alloys for demanding process applications, particularly heat-exchanger tubing. It offers strong localized corrosion resistance combined with competitive price‑performance versus traditional nickel alloys.
Key benefits- Prevents deposit buildup, pitting and stress corrosion cracking, reducing plugging, efficiency loss and unscheduled maintenance.
- High structural stability with excellent formability and ductility, enabling cold bending to tight radii.
- Simplified welding: typically requires no pre‑heating or post‑weld heat treatment, reducing fabrication time and complexity.
Typical applications- Crude Distillation Unit (CDU) overhead systems and recuperators
- REAC units and other refinery heat exchangers
- Gas cleaning and sour water systems
- Chemical and petrochemical plants handling chlorinated hydrocarbons, PTA, inorganic and organic acids
- Seawater‑cooled heat exchangers, biofuels and renewable energy applications
- Wellhead panels, X‑mas trees, hydraulic and instrumentation distributors
Performance highlights- Exceptional resistance to crevice corrosion and pitting compared with alternative alloys.
- Crevice corrosion resistance higher than Alloy 625 and at least on par with Alloy C‑276 in laboratory tests.
- Designed to achieve significantly higher critical pitting temperatures than standard grades.
