The reliable identification of friendly units across ground, air and sea domains is essential to prevent incidents of friendly fire. IFF Mode 5 adds advanced cryptographic protection and resilience against electronic interference, improving coordination and safety during combined operations.

Our solution
HENSOLDT’s LTR 400 is a lightweight IFF Mode 5 transponder certified for both military and civil applications. The transponder replies to interrogation calls; the reply signal can be evaluated by the interrogator. The LTR 400 is designed for straightforward platform integration and operational flexibility.
