OverviewThese proprietary composite materials are high-temperature, polymer-based sheet molding compounds (SMC) reinforced with either carbon or glass fibers. They are designed as lightweight, high-strength alternatives to metal in demanding mechanical applications and are suitable for aviation-critical systems including engine, flight control, landing gear, wheel and braking components. Typical applications include bushings, guide rings, wear liners, seals, clamps, and thermal isolators. They provide continuous operating capability up to 315°C (600°F) and can offer significant weight and cost savings compared with metal alternatives.H310® vs H320®H310®: Aerospace-grade blend of high-temperature thermoset polyimide-based resin reinforced with 1-inch chopped carbon fiber. Best for lower to moderate speeds and high loads.H320®: Blend of high-temperature thermoset polyimide-based resin reinforced with 1-inch chopped glass fiber. Best suited for high-temperature heat shields and high-temperature electrical insulation applications.BenefitsHigh temperature capability (continuous operating up to 315°C / 600°F).Very high mechanical strength.Lightweight compared to metal, enabling up to ~40% reduction in some cases.Available as sheet molding compound for manufacturing flexibility.PFAS StatusBy nature these materials are presented as PFAS-Free* (meaning no intentional addition of PFAS; trace environmental contamination not excluded).
