Product overview
AeroShell Oil W80 is an ashless dispersant piston engine oil designed to minimise wear during cold starts and to provide reliable lubrication at lower ambient temperatures (-17°C to 21°C / 1°F to 69°F). It is intended for use in certified four-stroke reciprocating piston aircraft engines, including fuel-injected and turbocharged variants.

Applications
AeroShell W Oils are available in three viscosity grades: AeroShell Oil W80, AeroShell Oil W100 and AeroShell Oil W120. The suffix for each grade corresponds to the oil viscosity at 210°F measured in Saybolt Universal Seconds. AeroShell W Oils are intended for four-stroke cycle certified reciprocating piston engines; this includes turbocharged and fuel-injected engines. They are not recommended for automotive engines. Radial engine operators typically use AeroShell Oil W120 in warm conditions, while AeroShell Oil W100 or AeroShell Oil W 15W-50 are preferred in cooler ambient temperatures. For many Lycoming and Continental flat engines, AeroShell Oil W100 or AeroShell Oil W 15W-50 are common choices; during colder periods AeroShell Oil W80 can be used in place of AeroShell Oil W100.
