Description

Product overview
AeroShell Oil 120 is a single‑grade break‑in oil formulated for four‑stroke certified aircraft reciprocating piston engines (except Porsche) and certain radial engines. With higher viscosity, it is intended for use during engine break‑in in warmer ambient conditions to provide consistent lubrication at elevated temperatures.

Features and benefits
  • Designed for engine break‑in — Minimal additives: only a small amount of pour point depressant and an antioxidant.
  • High temperature stability — Elevated viscosity for reliable lubrication in warm climates (above 26°C / 78.8°F).

Specifications & approvals
SAE — J1966 Grade 60 (suitable for engines requiring oil to SAE J1966 / MIL‑L‑6082 and not requiring dispersant additives).

Applications
AeroShell break‑in oils are available in three viscosity grades: AeroShell Oil 80, AeroShell Oil 100 and AeroShell Oil 120. The grade number corresponds to the Saybolt Universal Seconds at 210°F. These single‑grade oils are primarily used during the break‑in of new or overhauled four‑stroke cycle aviation piston engines; follow engine manufacturer and overhaul facility recommendations for duration and lubrication practice.

Health, Safety and Environment
  • Health and safety — Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for handling and safety information.
  • Protect the environment — Dispose of used lubricant at authorised collection points. Do not discharge into drains, soil or water.

Typical physical characteristics
These characteristics are typical of current production. While future production will meet Shell's specification, some variation may occur.
