Overview
AeroShell Oil 80 is a straight mineral break-in oil formulated for use in piston engines during initial run-in and post-overhaul break-in periods. It provides low-viscosity lubrication to support reliable oil flow in colder ambient conditions (-17°C to 21°C / 1.4°F to 69.8°F).

SAE specification: J1966 Grade 40 (single-grade suffix 80 based on Saybolt Universal Seconds at 210°F). Joint Service Designation: OM-170. Approved for use in four-stroke certified aircraft reciprocating piston engines (except Porsche) and other radial engines that require SAE J1966 without a dispersant additive.

Applications
AeroShell piston engine break-in oils are available in three viscosity grades: AeroShell Oil 80, 100 and 120. These straight mineral oils are primarily used during break-in of new or recently overhauled four-stroke cycle aviation piston engines that specify SAE J1966 (MIL-L-6082) and do not require dispersant-containing oils.
