OverviewINSTRUMENT FLIGHT PROCEDURE DESIGN is a suite of aeronautical software solutions and modules for flight procedure design, aeronautical data management, charting and airspace design. It includes named components such as Data4Flight®, GéoTITAN®, AIP-GIS Charting® and Airspace4Flight® that work together to support procedure creation, validation, visualization, interoperability and product generation.
Data4Flight® — Aeronautical data management- Centralized AIXM 5.1 extended database available in standalone or server mode based on PostgreSQL or SQLite technologies.
- Designed for aeronautical data management with an intuitive and easy-to-use approach to maximize user efficiency and promote interoperability through aeronautical data exchange.
- Collect and exchange data in supported formats and standards: AIXM 4.5 and 5.1, ARINC 424 and ARINC 816.
- Interoperability with GéoTITAN®, AIP-GIS Charting®, AIM4Flight® and Thales TopSky®.
- 2D and 3D environment visualization for aeronautical data.
- Integrated business rule engine for verification with predefined rules datasets (ADQ, AIXM, ARINC 424) and support for customizable business rules.
- Export: Automated Flight Procedure Design technical report creation in Excel and Word formats.
AIP-GIS Charting® — Aeronautical charting- Software application for aeronautical charting allowing editing, update and publication of civil and military charts in compliance with ICAO Annex 4.
- Built on ArcGIS (ESRI) platform.
- Advanced chart production workflows and direct link to AIXM central database.
- Preserves data integrity throughout chart production.
- Cartographic data tools including chart temporality management, cartographic feature creation and data-driven elements (Off view trajectory, Profile View, Dynamic tables).
- Product management features: comprehensive charts and templates document management, robust symbol library, advanced labeling and rule-based symbol and text generation.
- Quality control features: automatic identification of changed features and impacted charts, report generation and workflow management.
- Templates: pre-configured ICAO Annex 4 templates and customizable templates for cartographer-specific requirements.
GéoTITAN® — Procedure trajectory and protection area design- Expert application dedicated to automated creation and management of conventional or RNAV IFR trajectories and their protection areas.
- Database-driven approach minimizing manual input and focusing user interface on procedure design tasks.
- Geographical environment tailored to procedure design with data quality and consistency checks.
- Automated geodesic computations using WGS84 reference.
- Automated computation of protection areas and minimum altitudes from obstacles and digital terrain models (DTM).
- Automated regulation checking and flexible design with automated templates.
- Interoperability with standards and external systems including AIXM 4.5 and 5.1 and integration with Data4Flight® and AIM4Flight®.
Airspace4Flight® — Airspace and route design- Module that allows design of airspace and route tracks directly in the Data4Flight® database.
- Displays and edits airspace or routes and supports validation of airspace and en-route track attributes against aeronautical data business rules.
- Supports airspace and route-specific analysis to comply with ICAO design recommendations (Annex 11) and ICAO Doc 8168 volume 2 (Aircraft Operations – Construction of Visual and Instrument Flight Procedures).
Visualization, verification and export- 2D and 3D visualization environments across modules.
- Integrated verification via business rules with predefined datasets (ADQ, AIXM, ARINC 424) and ability to create custom rules.
- Automated export and reporting, including technical reports for Flight Procedure Design in Excel and Word formats.
