Description

Overview
Dual matrix array (DMA) and dual linear array (DLA) probes are paired phased-array probes wired to a single connector to perform transmit–receive longitudinal (TRL) inspections on welds and adjacent base material. They are designed for thickness measurement and flaw detection in stainless steels, austenitic and corrosion-resistant alloys, dissimilar welds and granular materials.

Advantages
  • Capability to transmit and receive longitudinal waves in granular and coarse-grained materials
  • Improved penetration and signal-to-noise ratio in stainless and corrosion-resistant alloys, including dissimilar welds
  • Available at higher frequencies and with small elements for detection of very small indications
  • Multiple configurations (DMA and DLA) to match inspection scope and coverage

A28 and A38 Dual Linear Array (DLA) Probes
  • High-frequency options up to 10 MHz for applications requiring high sensitivity (e.g., HTHA, creep, SOHIC)
  • Dual 32 (A28) or 64 (A38) element arrays provide wide coverage with compact footprint
  • Wedge series fitting pipe diameters of 4.5 in. [114.3 mm] OD and larger
  • Wedges with roof angles for passive focusing covering focal depths approx. 4 mm to 95 mm (0.16 in. to 3.74 in.)
  • Compatible with universal holder and ChainSCANNER™, VersaMOUSE, HSMT-Compact, HSMT-Flex, AxSEAM™, WeldROVER™, MapROVER, and SteerROVER scanners

A26 and A36 Dual Linear Array (DLA) Probes
  • Optimized for stainless steel welds (austenitic, dissimilar welds, cladding)
  • A26 (dual 32-element) suitable for thick pipes (40 mm–80 mm [1.6 in.–3.1 in.])
  • A36 (dual 64-element) for extra-thick pipes (≥80 mm [≥3.1 in.])
  • Wedge series fitting pipe diameters of 8.625 in. [219 mm] OD and larger
  • Compatible with universal holder, ChainSCANNER and VersaMOUSE scanners

A27 Dual Matrix Array Probe (32-Element, 16×2)
  • Designed for stainless steel weld applications (austenitic, dissimilar welds, cladding)
  • Well-suited to mid-range pipe wall thicknesses
  • Wedge series fitting pipe diameters of 4.5 in. [114.3 mm] OD and larger
  • Compatible with universal holder, ChainSCANNER and VersaMOUSE scanners

A25 16-Element Dual Linear Array Probe
  • Targeted at stainless steel welds and cladding inspections
  • Thin-walled pipe applications with passive focal depth ≈ 6 mm [0.23 in.]
  • Wedge series fitting pipe diameters from 1 in. to 4.5 in. [25.4 mm to 114.3 mm] OD
  • Compatible with COBRA™ scanner
