Description

Overview
Immersion probes are array ultrasonic probes designed for use with a water wedge or in an immersion tank when the test piece is partially or fully immersed. They operate in longitudinal wave mode and can be configured for refracted shear‑wave inspections using a Rexolite wedge.

Advantages
  • Acoustic impedance matched to water for efficient coupling
  • Compatible with water wedges to allow adjustable water path when full immersion is not possible
  • Linear scanning capability covering 30 mm to 90 mm in a single pass with high positional accuracy
  • Corrosion‑resistant stainless steel housing for industrial environments
  • Waterproof rating up to 1 m (3.28 ft)

Typical Applications
  • Inspection of thin plates and tubing (steel, aluminium and other metals)
  • Composite inspection for delamination, disbonding and other planar defects
  • Inline thickness gauging in production lines
  • Automated scanning and mechanised inspection systems
