OverviewComponents manufactured from the Meldin® 5000 series (PAEK and PEEK-based formulations) are engineered as injection-molded thermoplastic parts offering metal-replacement characteristics such as high mechanical strength, corrosion resistance and dimensional stability while enabling tight-tolerance, finished geometries without secondary machining.
ApplicationsTypical uses range from miniature bearings for handheld surgical instruments to large-diameter (>1.5 m) seal rings for offshore oil & gas. Grades are supplied as finished parts; selected grades are available as stock shapes for prototyping and lead-time reduction.
Grades and performance- Meldin® 5301, 5302, 5320, 5330: superior chemical resistance, thermomechanical stability and dimensional control.
- Meldin® 5055: adds inherent lubricity for higher load-bearing and sliding applications.
Features and benefits- Primary processing: injection molding into tight-tolerance finished components; select grades compatible with hot compression molding or extrusion.
- Metal-like surface finish achievable without expensive machining or secondary operations.
- Lightweight, corrosion-resistant alternative to metal and machined ceramics.
- High production capacity with precision tolerance control and 100% part inspection programs.
