Product OverviewRulon® 945 is a black, carbon‑filled PTFE bearing material engineered for applications requiring minimal wear and deformation under load. It offers the lowest deformation among Rulon® grades, excellent chemical resistance and stable dimensions at elevated temperatures. Due to its moderate abrasiveness, Rulon® 945 is recommended for use against hard counterfaces such as hardened steel. It is not intended for applications that require electrical insulation.
Key Properties- Very low wear and deformation under load
- Lowest deformation among Rulon® grades
- Excellent chemical resistance
- Good dimensional stability at temperature
- Moderate abrasive characteristics — best paired with hard mating surfaces (e.g., hardened steel)
- Not suitable where electrical insulation is required
Standard SpecificationsMaterials: Black fluoropolymer, carbon-filled
Service conditions: Temperature range −240°C to +288°C; Mechanical strength 8.3 MPa
Manufacturing: Compression molding
Tribology: Friction coefficient 0.20–0.35; Max PV (dry/lubricated) 0.35 MPa·m/s
Typical dimensions: Rods & tubes (Ø 1.2 m × L 3 m); Sheets (610 mm × 80 mm); Tapes (W 1 m × T 0.086–6 mm)
Forms & Typical OfferingsAvailable as molded bearings and components, sleeve, flanged and thrust bearings, stamped and machined seals, extruded profiles and machined parts. Common applications: pumps, mixers, compressors, appliances, insulators, linear slides, pipe supports and wear bands. Suitable for steam, wet and dry environments.
