OverviewOmniseal® Series 70, 80 and 90 rotary lip seals feature double-lip designs for high-pressure and high-speed rotary applications. Configurations include a primary threaded lip and a secondary sealing lip for lubricated environments, providing enhanced leakage control and extended maintenance intervals.
Series details- Series 70: rated for pressures up to 400 PSID with lubricating media and speeds up to 3,500 ft/min. Maximum PV examples: 300,000 (lubricated), 50,500 (non-lubricated).
- Series 80: optimized for lubricated systems at high speeds (up to 4,500 ft/min) and pressures up to 250 PSID; designed for clockwise shaft rotation when viewed from the atmosphere side. Maximum PV example: 200,000 (lubricated).
- Series 90: identical to Series 80 but for counterclockwise shaft rotation when viewed from the atmosphere side.
Applications and performanceThese high-performance polymer rotary lip seals commonly replace elastomer lip and carbon face seals in equipment such as air and refrigeration compressors, hydraulic motors, pumps and vacuum pumps. Design evolution targets zero leakage and long service life; in some installations Omniseal polymer lip seals can provide maintenance-free operation exceeding 40,000 hours under recommended conditions.
