Description

Overview
Manual bolt hole probes are eddy-current inspection probes with coils oriented at right angles to the probe shaft. They are designed to be rotated by hand inside a bolt hole (fastener removed) to inspect material condition around fastener holes. Typical operation is in the 50 kHz–500 kHz range and probes are offered in absolute, bridge and bridge-differential coil configurations. Listed probes feature a split plastic tip and body for durability and allow expansion beyond the nominal diameter range.

Available series and variants
  • Adjustable X Type — BXM series (examples: BXM-12-16, BXM-16-20, BXM-20-24, BXM-32-40). Frequency 50–500 kHz; absolute/bridge coils; unshielded or shielded options; connectors: Microdot or Triax Fischer (BXM-20-24-TF).
  • Adjustable shielded — BXMF series (example: BXMF-24-28). Shielded option for reduced noise; Microdot connector.
  • Countersink type — CSM100 series (examples: CSM100-8, CSM100-10, CSM100-12, CSM100-14, CSM100-16). Fixed countersink diameters for flush inspections; Microdot connector.
  • Countersink stainless steel — CSM100-xx-SS (examples: CSM100-8-SS, CSM100-10-SS, CSM100-12-SS, CSM100-16-SS). Stainless steel body for corrosive or abrasive environments; Microdot connector.

Key technical specifications
  • Coil orientation: coils positioned at right angles to the probe shaft.
  • Operation: manually rotated inside bolt holes with the fastener removed.
  • Diameter options: standard fractional and metric sizes; custom diameters available; split tip permits expansion beyond nominal diameter.
  • Coil configurations: absolute (single coil), bridge, bridge differential.
  • Connector types: Microdot and Fischer/LEMO Triax.
  • Frequency range: 50 kHz–500 kHz (typical).
  • Tip and body: plastic tip and body for the listed probes; stainless steel variants available for CSM100-xx-SS series.
  • Shielding: unshielded and shielded variants (e.g., BXMF series).
  • Ordering references: part IDs and cable/item numbers provided per model (examples: BXM-12-16 — Part ID BXM-12-16 / U8600094; BXM-20-24-TF — Part ID BXM-20-24-TF / U8600103; CSM100-12 — Part ID CSM100-12 / U8600134).

Ordering & compatibility
Part IDs and associated item/cable numbers are provided for ordering and inventory. Select connector type (Microdot or Triax Fischer) to match your instrument and cable assemblies (example cable IDs: 9102894 / U8800041 or 9122244 / U8800091). Verify probe series, diameter range and connector compatibility with your inspection equipment before placing an order.
