Description

Overview
Metal turbo seals have been engineered for applications requiring light loading, flexibility and high temperature capability. They can be spring-energized to enhance sealing performance. While primarily used as face seals, they can also be manufactured in axial configurations for specific uses such as gas turbines in power generation.

Applications
  • Face and axial turbine shaft seals for flexible, light-load applications
  • Energy and power-generation equipment (gas turbines) and other rotating machinery with limited motion, thermal expansion or misalignment

Design & Function
  • Primarily designed as face seals; axial configurations available
  • Option for spring-energized designs to improve sealing performance
  • Engineered to accommodate limited motions due to thermal expansion, misalignment or increased springback
  • Dual sealing capability (face & axial) to adapt to varied system geometries and limited motions

Standard Specifications
Materials: Inconel X-750, Inconel 718, Waspaloy, Haynes 282
Typical use: applications with sufficiently wide cavities and low compression load; similar to E-Seals
Temperature: Cryogenic to +1010°C (+1859°F)
Pressure: 3 to 30 BAR (43 to 435 PSI)
Leakage rate: approx. 7 (L/min) per mm of diameter
Dimensions: face/radial diameters 38 mm to 7100 mm
Cross-section: 1.09 to 7.50 mm

Notes
This component is PFAS-Free* by formulation (*PFAS-Free means no intentional addition of PFAS; trace contamination cannot be completely excluded).
