BS T45 (also commonly referred to as T45), is the carbon-manganese tube originally used in the fuselage parts of Spitfire and Hurricane aircraft. It is still used in the aerospace industry today for its high strength properties and ease of fabrication. “BS” stands for British Standard. Due to its reliability it continues to be an essential material in aeronautics and motorsport, for the creation of highly reliable lightweight structures such as high strength frames, roll cages, pilot and crew seats. In motorsport it is used particularly for the highest end applications and for professional teams.
