316Ti (alphanumeric code X6CrNiMoTi17-12-2) has similar characteristics to 316 (both are austenitic stainless steels containing chromium, nickel, and molybdenum, resistant to the action of chlorides and therefore used in marine environments and in the chemical and food industries, as well as for thermal and other various applications); however, the addition of titanium makes 316Ti even more stable, further improving its resistance to intergranular corrosion. Austenitic stainless steels contain not only chromium (which guarantees stainlessness) but also high levels of nickel, which significantly increases corrosion resistance (some versions may also contain other elements such as molybdenum, titanium, and niobium). Although the austenitic structure does not allow for heat treatment, the cold deformation that the tube undergoes during drawing allows it to acquire very high mechanical characteristics, especially on small diameters. While completely non-magnetic in the solubilized state, they acquire a slight ferromagnetism in the drawn state.
