P91 steel is a high-alloy CrMoV steel with added Nb, with high mechanical properties, suitable for permanent use at temperatures up to approximately 650°C (1,202°F). It is widely used in the manufacture of flanges, valves, pipes, and equipment requiring the highest resistance to creep (hot viscous flow) and hydrogen embrittlement under pressure and at high temperatures. Due to its characteristics, it is one of the materials that has most characterized applications operating under hot viscous flow conditions in recent years.
